In the state of Texas, spring break generally occurs during the month of March. During this time, there are plenty of amazing cities to visit, regardless of what type of activity you may be looking for to enjoy alongside both your friends and family members, as no matter what, the weather will always be warm and the bluebonnets will always be in bloom.

Here are four of the best places to visit in the state of Texas during spring break.

Dinosaur Valley State Park

Perhaps one of the most interesting places to visit in the state of Texas during spring break is Dinosaur Valley State Park, which is located two hours from the city of Dallas. This is a rather unique state park that features actual dinosaur tracks, and even though these are considered to be the biggest attraction involving the park, there is plenty more that this location has to offer. In fact, Dinosaur Valley State Park also offers mountain biking, hiking, camping, and swimming in the Paluxy River.

San Marcos

Another interesting place to visit in the state of Texas is the town of San Marcos, which is also home to Texas State University. The town is also home to the San Marcos River, which is considered to be a top spring break activity, and part of the river even runs through the city itself. The river, which is fed by a spring, always remains at a cool temperature even during the hottest of temperatures. The river isn’t the only activity you can choose to partake in in the town though, as you can also visit multiple shops, restaurants, and museums, such as the LBJ Museum.

New Braunfels

One other interesting place to visit in the state of Texas is the town of New Braunfels, which is perfect for those who love beer and spring break together. Visiting this town means you’ll get to tour many different microbreweries, as well as spend a day tubing on the Comal River. Additionally, you can also visit the amazing Schlitterbahn Waterpark. Gruene is also a great location to visit as well, as this location hosts live music every day.

Austin, Tx

The city of Austin, which is the capital of the state of Texas, is sure to make spring break even more fun thanks to all sorts of great food and live music. During the month of March, the city also hosts the SXSW festival for three weeks; however, it’s important to note that this year’s festival has recently been canceled due to fears involving the recent coronavirus outbreak, which has been prevalent in many locations around the world, including some portions of the United States. During the normal hosting of the festival, however, the music week will typically coincide with spring break for many universities in the area, and SXSW essentially transforms Austin into one large music venue. If festivals of this magnitude aren’t what you’re into, you can partake in other activities such as outdoor recreation at the Barton Creek Greenbelt or going on a tour at the Texas State Capitol.
