Many people typically wonder which type of home is the better one between those that have one story and those that have two. This is something that should always be considered when deciding on purchasing a home, especially since the number of floors will affect the following:

*How the home looks

*How easy it is to navigate and maintain

*Heating/cooling costs

Regardless of the type of home that you may be either interested in or considering, each one has its own sets of advantages and disadvantages attached to them.

Here are some of the pros and cons of each type of home:

One-Story Homes

*Pros: maintenance is much easier, much simpler to design, safer navigation, easier evacuation in case of an emergency

*Cons: costs more to build or add on to it, less amount of privacy

Two-Story Homes

*Pros: Extra amount of privacy, reduced risk of burglary, additional design options, providing more of a view

*Cons: Increased risk of accidents, increased costs of heating and cooling, possible risk of a higher noise level
