In just two weeks’ time, the South by Southwest festival, more popularly known as SXSW, will arrive in Austin. If you’re someone who plans on attending or doing an Austin home search nearby all the action, it’s important to start preparing for the festival now rather than later. Here are five useful ways that you can begin adequately preparing for this popular festival.
*Oftentimes, getting to the festival itself is the hardest part. If you’re planning on getting to SXSW with your own car, it’s best to not try to get to downtown Austin itself. Instead, try to find either street parking or a parking garage sometime before 10AM on the day that the festival itself begins in order to find the best spot that you can.
*It’s also a good idea to consider taking great care of your feet since you will practically be hitting the pavement all day long. The best kinds of footwear to consider are either sneakers or booties.
*It’s no secret that you will undoubtedly become hungry while attending SXSW. It’s also no secret that every food-related booth you come across will have ridiculously long lines. This means that it’s a good idea to bring bottled water and non-perishable food items with you, such as protein bars, cookies, and crackers. Sure, you may be carrying a few extra items around with you as a result, but at least you’ll keep yourself nourished and you won’t have to worry about paying exorbitant amounts of money for a sandwich and a drink.
*Having a schedule of some kind is also important as well. Downloading the official SXSW mobile app is a great start. This app allows you to tag the events that you want to partake in the most. From there, you will be able to fill in the gaps with other events that you want to take part in, especially if you find that lines for things that you want to do the most are too long.
*Save some extra time to really party down with free alcohol that is often supplied at SXSW when you have the chance to do so – responsibly, of course!
